One of the most popular tours in Iceland; a day trip from Reykjavik. Our main stops on the way are Geysir, Gullfoss and the national park, Þingvellir.
On this tour we will also make a stop at Friðheimar tomato farm for lunch. At Friðheimar you will get an insight into how they use the thermal water to grow their tomatoes and maybe even try some tomato beer or liquor.
*Please not that the order of the stops in the Golden Circle can change if needed, due to external circumstances, but I will of course always keep you informed with an updated plan.
In the geothermal area of Geysir you will see the bubbling hot springs and one of our most active ones, Strokkur, that erupts around every 7 minutes, on average. From Geysir we continue our trip towards Gullfoss (Golden Waterfall), in my opinion (and many others) one of the most magnificent waterfalls in Iceland. It’s an unforgettable experience watching the huge amounts of water plunge down into the canyon surrounding it.
From the magnificent Gullfoss we close the circle with a visit to the national park, Þingvellir, where you can see the rift valley created by the tectonic plates of North America and Eurasia drifting apart. Þingvellir is the location where the first democratically elected parliament took place. Truly spectacular natural surroundings, by the largest lake in Iceland.
